Before we start - A decision has to be made first - TO DECIDE TO THINK!
We could perhaps divide people into four main groups. Firstly, the masses who have always had difficulty making ends meet and who now struggle even more to exist. They can decide to KEEP OUT OF DEBT. To commit themselves to God and to trust in Him alone. Secondly, those who have been able to continue in some sort of employment and who have, in the main, been able to enjoy the "fruits" of their labours in a Western society where ‘Growth’ is portrayed as the god of our age. Those in this group, have somehow been able to keep ‘the show on the road’ albeit with a reduction in spending power as most incomes have fallen in relation to the costs of living. They can decide to RECONSIDER THEIR VALUES as they commit themeslves and their finances to God.
A huge financial earthquake has set in motion an unstoppable force
The 2008 Global Financial Crisis actually represented what can only be described as a huge "Financial Earthquake"; the worst experienced in history. It was a ‘warning shot’; an earthquake that uncovered what turned out to be a massive, deep and dark hole of debt throughout the Western world that had actually been growing for the past 40/ 50 years. Debts held by Governments, Corporations and Individuals that were now in the trillions.
But this position did not happen overnight. The real damage began to occur in 1971, when the whole world changed from using a monetary system backed with real assets – ie gold and silver to a ‘Fiat’ or ‘Paper’ monetary system backed by only Government promises. These promises were in turn themselves backed by the taxes of ‘the people’. This ‘Fiat’ Western monetary system was based entirely on the creation of debt that itself gave the appearance and impression of being able to sustain ever growing wealth. Now ‘Debt’ had become ‘Money’. This potentially devastating reality was aided by the abundance of endless cheap energy in the form of oil and the advent of computer technology that could create ‘algorithms’ to run and control a vast Financial Services Industry all based on the idea that constant ‘Growth’ was possible in a world of finite resources.
So where do I find the Answer?
This is where difficulties arise. None of us have ever experienced what is now happening as we witness the demise of the Western world Monetary System that is disintegrating beneath our feet – a system that is totally geared to continual increases in debt. None of us had before ever faced the reality that such a system could grind to a halt. None of us has had cause to face these facts before, because the Central Bankers and Elitists running these systems have been so good at creating this monumental ‘Illusion’.
BUT Facts are Facts!
Whether or not people choose to remain living the ‘Illusion’ or move into ‘Reality’, there is no doubt that a Western monetary system based entirely on ever increasing debt cannot go on forever and all the signs are now indicating that its demise cannot be far away. It is a system of ‘debt based money’ that has ensured the rise of the biggest "Asset Bubble" in the history of the world and it is drawing to its inevitable conclusion The implications are huge for everyone as are the implications for a Welfare State system, devised almost 6 decades ago, now also in a very advanced of disintegration. Throughout this whole period, governments have, one after another, used it as a ‘political’ ploy to gain votes by simply attempting to convince the people that everyone can continually benefit from the system. But to sustain this illusion has required politicians to convince first older people that they will continue to benefit from the system at the expense of younger people and then to convince younger people to believe that they can benefit at the expense of their children and so it goes on. The truth is that the Welfare system is the most gigantic Ponzi scheme ever to be devised and it is now drawing ever faster to an inevitable conclusion. The debt is now so huge that it is hard to imagine how many generations ahead would be needed to fund our current withdrawals.
We all need to reassess our lives - Once people begin to understand the reality of the world in which we now live, there is a need for a period of complete readjustment in how we should look at life. As with the bursting of all false dreams or illusions, the first reaction in seeing a glimpse of reality is likely to be an element of fear, first followed by disbelief and even anger and then probably looking for someone to blame. Choosing reality means engaging with emotional reactions initially and then being prepared to go through a period of readjustment, with goals, ambitions, dreams and objectives needing to be reassessed. Most people will simply want to avoid any ‘pain’ in contemplating such a course of action. For those who do, eventually as reality sets in, so a new vision can begin to shine through. Many thousands of people across the world have already gone through this process as they have emerged into new ways of thinking and perception.
A new Vision for the Future?
The question is, what kind of renewed vision do you believe is possible as you move into a new world view that is no longer based on these debt based systems and false realities? Some people have chosen to believe that once the world begins to readjust to these new realities, a new way of life can emerge that is not based on materialism and consumerism but one which is based on relationships and living a more simple lifestyles leading to a more happy existence in the future. Others do not see the future through the same perspective. People with different ‘belief’ systems or ‘religious’ views have different perspectives or vision of the future. As a Christian, I think it is very clear that the Bible does not teach a ‘Utopian’ view of the world as a possibility; at least not until something called ‘Iniquity’ is extinguished from the face of the earth and that will only come after God brings his final judgment on a world that has chosen to live life without the true and living God as shown to each of us through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Then and only then are we promised a new heavens and a new earth where such an existence is promised for all those who have given their lives to Christ and who have served him throughout their lives on earth.
How should you react and respond?
Firstly – DECIDE TO INVESTIGATE - you will need to decide whether you think what is being said could be true or not. This means taking a decision TO THINK and PONDER and MEDITATE. If you think that it could be true then, unless you simply want to maintain the status quo and carry on as normal for as long as you can, you will need to spend time investigating and carrying out your own research. YOU have to take personal responsibility because you cannot rely on anyone else as no-one else has the answers either. YOU have to take action. YOU have to make space for the time and energy that is required to find out truth from lies and deception. YOU have to spend less time being governed and controlled by mainstream media propaganda and ignoring the true facts. This will, in the main, require turning to the vast amount of new sources that can only be found in the "Alternative Media". It will not be easy and it will take time but it will not be found in the mainstream media that is almost completely controlled by only 4 to 5 mega trans global corporations who control most of what appears in the media.
Secondly - DISCUSS - as you uncover truth and find real facts that speak of this great ‘Illusion’, begin to discuss with your friends and family and those willing to engage but be prepared for many people to ignore the facts, dismiss the research and quite possibly ridicule and ignore you.
Thirdly – DRAW CONCLUSIONS - as you draw your own conclusions from the data and the research, begin to think through how this information brings the need to readjust your lifestyle as you reassess the reality of your current aims and goals and objectives. Do you think that there could be other reasons for living a more meaningful, purposeful and sustainable lifestyle that might even have eternal consequences?
Fourthly – SPREAD – the news and help others to understand for their own sake. GET PREPARED.
The Illusion and its Implications
In 2008 the world was faced with a global financial crisis, the scale and intensity of which had never been experienced before. Living under the illusion of ever increasing levels of wealth, the Western nations were busy running up unprecedented levels of debt, had reduced the levels of regulation, created ultra complicated and sophisticated financial instruments that few could understand that all eventually led to a series of big bank failures. What followed was a series of massive Government ‘bail outs’ throughout the Western world using ordinary taxpayers money. These ‘bail outs’ effectively landed the people with colossal amounts of unrepayable future liabilities.
Thirdly, the fortunate few who fall into the wealthier category who may well have experienced some difficulties and stresses but who have in the main seen the accumulation of even more wealth over the past seven years. They will need to decide whether or not they can commit their wealth to God and SEE WHAT HE WOULD HAVE THEM THEM DO TO BUILD THE KINGDOM OF GOD as opposed to building their own kingdoms. Fourthly, we have those who we will call the ‘super-rich’. This small group of people has simply not noticed anything other than the fact that their wealth has rocketed skywards as they have continued to live the ‘good life’. Imagine what they could build in the Kingdom of God with their current treasures? Because their wealth is so astronomic, it is hard to imagine, but MANY OF THESE PEOPLE COULD DO AMAZING THINGS WITH GOD WITH THEM AND BEHIND THEM as opposed to serving the god of this age.
But most people do not spend much time ‘thinking’ or reflecting, they simply follow the mainstream media news that manages to underplay, distort and even completely deny reality whilst it dishes out our daily diet of ‘images’ and ‘stories’ that, in the main, give the impression that there is no undue need to over concern ourselves or to question the way we live our lives. Provided people have been able to maintain their jobs, continue to receive a regular income and hear that the economy is on the mend, we think all is well. In addition, most people are unfortunately brainwashed into believing that they can judge the health of an economy by ever-rising stock markets and that is of course a complete lie. However, in the midst of all this, there are still some, who in quieter moments of thought, perceive that ‘something is not quite right’ out there, but who don’t know what. IF you fall into this category, then God can get hold of you if YOU decide to get hold of God!
The truth of the matter is, that during the past seven years things have changed dramatically and it is Western governments and Central Banks who have in the main, managed to create the illusion of continued well-being by printing trillions in currencies out of thin air. Their actions have in turn been supported by and large by a mainstream media who themselves are controlled by four or five mega corporate media institutions that control most of the news throughout the Western world.
Why don't we ACT? Maybe because we are living in an 'Entertainment Age' - amused mainly by trivia?
In the midst of all this, we have also lived in an "Entertainment Age" that has generally kept most people amused with all sorts of trivia and "toys" that have ensured that the more challenging areas of life are generally relegated to the less important or even ignored. Those in power have had a free reign to create their own neo liberal society that most people just accept without bringing any real challenge politically. All the while, the "benefits" system has also ensured that millions of people have become reliant on the government for their existence, thus ensuring a group of people who are assured of voting for whoever will maintain their status quo.
There are of course numerous other factors in the perpetration of this continual "Illusion", but the one question that very few people seem to even have the desire to ask, is where is this all headed? It is true that many people do seem to know, almost instinctively that all is not quite well in the world but the majority seem to be able to push this question to the back of their mind and to continue to pursue life as they have always known it. This is generally called “sticking your head in the sand”.
Despite this apparent apathy, there are still thousands of people across the world that has begun to waken up to the reality of where the world is headed. As a result, many have decided to take action and many varied responses have materialised. As with most things, there are always extremes to the reaction resulting in quite different choices of action. Comparatively few people have however actually begun to realise what the root causes are for what has gone wrong with the world's "systems". Those who have, stood back and began to ask some very difficult and searching questions. Once people do however, the very first response from those coming ‘into the light’ tends to be so "What should I do"? When people do finally ask serious questions, it is interesting to note that that they seem to have an almost in built assumption that ‘Someone - Somewhere’ must have the answer.
Waking up to reality is much like the characters in the story of the Wizard of Oz. The people had choices to make. Either they continued to believe all the propaganda, lies and deceit that have been the norm for so long about the great Wizard with all the power to rule their lives or they looked underneath the lies and deceit and propaganda and choose truth and reality only to find that this ‘power’ was itself a great illusion. They can choose to believe that things are simply too complicated for them to understand and that those people in power who are running the system will eventually somehow "get things right" and all will okay in the end or not. To discover the truth of what has been happening for so long does require a complete shift in mental attitude. It first needs the overwhelming desire to ‘know the truth’, followed by the tenacity to research in order to determine fact from fiction. Alas, it is clear that millions of people will probably simply choose to "put their head in the sand" and live in the continued illusions because to face the reality of the facts is disturbing and it requires action. Most people simply do not wish to be disturbed from their way of thinking or from the life that they live or the dreams that they may have no matter how many facts are presented.
However, this huge earthquake also uncovered other faulty systems that were based on nothing more than Ponzi schemes - the Western Welfare State, the biggest "Illusion" that has ever been perpetrated on the Western world. THIS WILL AFFECT EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US.
This 2008 earthquake launched the greatest attempt in history to cover over the truth through endless 'money printing' designed to continue to live the lie in the hope that the lie might become the truth.
Unfortunately, because most people in general today find they living a more pressured existence, few ever seem to have the time to even ponder how or why things may have changed over the past 40 to 50 years and what ‘Reality’ actually is. The Western Bankers and Governments have managed to build the concept of "Inflation" into the mindset of most people, and most do not realise that it now takes the dual income from a couple to attain the same standard of living that was previously achieved by only one income earner as was the case in their parents generation. The opportunities afforded by a secure and decent employment have dwindled and the costs of education being afforded only through the accumulation of even more debt, taken completely as the norm. We have lived in an age of ever-increasing technological advancement and have assumed that such technology will always offer a better future and opportunity when in fact this is not the case for the bulk of people. BUT only YOU can decide that YOU NEED to respond to this in whatever way you think appropriate. There are no instant easy solutions. BUT ACT you must.
After the initial trauma of this near catastrophe, we were told that the whole system had in fact come to within an hour from total collapse, which, if it had occurred, would have resulted in a very different life in the Western world to that we have experienced over the past 40 years. Somehow we were all ‘saved’ but the question is – from what, by what means, at what cost and what would the implications be for millions of people?
Over the past 7 years the Western world has continued to stumble on from crisis to crisis as it has tried to return to ‘business as normal’. Although Western Governments claim they have been trying to reduce the difference between the level of their annual spending and earnings, i.e. ‘The Deficit’, the public is seldom told that the size of the total National Debt that has actually been continuing to increase dramatically. In the UK and in the US, it has virtually doubled. Very few members of the public seem to understand what the implications of this rapidly increasing debt will mean and most, but not all, seem to be persuaded by Governments, Central Bankers and the ‘controlled’ media that after a good ‘dose’ of austerity, we can all somehow return once again to ‘normal’ – back on the road towards recovery.
The evidence for this so called ‘recovery’ is usually portrayed in rising stock markets and many other dubious statistics. Many also point out that restaurants still seem to be filled with people eating expensive meals, shopping Malls still seem to be filled with thousands of jostling people and that most others have been going back to the business of ‘consuming’. So what is the real truth about these unprecedented levels of unrepayable debts and what are the likely implications for us all?
So what are the implications? - Lets consider four different groups of People
